Our owner has been actively involved with the state's advisory committee through the DPOR. She has volunteered her expertise and time to help guide suggestions for regulations aimed at maintaining professional standards in Esthetics.
Founding principals
Richard Sells, the founder of American Spirit Institute, significantly influenced the core values upon which Williamsburg Skin Institute was built. Recognizing a need for professional career training in the expanding industry, Richard established his school, American Spirit Institute in 1992. Over the years, the school expanded to multiple locations, with the main branch now located in Richmond, Virginia.
In 2024, the Williamsburg location was rebranded as Williamsburg Skin Institute. It is now owned and operated by Richard's daughter, Meredith Harrison, who is dedicated to upholding the educational values and expertise upon which the school was founded.
